Hello, I'm Alison.
I've loved all things creative for as long as I can remember. As a child I spent hours drawing and making. I was given my first Singer sewing machine when I was around 6 years old. It's still a prized possession, though I no longer use it as hand-cranking is a little slow! These days I use a variety of sewing machines including a couple of Singers, a Bernina and my industrial Juki.
Throughout school, college and university I followed my passions culminating in a career teaching a variety of creative subjects to children and adults in mainstream, special needs and community education. When I had our children I decided to leave teaching and concentrate on raising our boys. It was around this time that Belovedly was launched.
I now enjoy working from my home studio in Derbyshire. Using a range of new, vintage, reclaimed and upcycled materials I create beautifully handmade, high quality items for you to use and treasure or gift to loved ones.
Lucky to live on the edge of the beautiful Peak District and a frequent visitor to the East Coast; I take inspiration from my surroundings, day trips and our family holidays.
